TWO anti-illegal drugs police officers yesterday were shot dead in a daring attack in Mabalacat City, Pampanga.
Slain were PSMS Sofronio Capitle Jr. and PSSG Dominador Gacusan Jr., both assigned at the Mabalacat City Police Station – Drug Enforcement Unit.
Five bonnet-wearing suspects on two motorcycles gunned down the victims in Bgy. Dau, Mabalacat City.
An investigation showed the victims came from an anti-illegal drugs operation in the area when attacked by the suspects who were apparently tailing them.
Witnesses said the suspects even alighted from their motorcycles and finished the victims by shooting them in the head.
The gunmen fled after the killing.
Central Luzon police director Brig. Gen. Cesar Pasiwen has ordered Pampanga police commander Col. Levi Hope Basilop to fasttrack the solution of the gruesome killing of Capitle and Gacusan.
Pasiwen vowed that no stone will be left unturned in the killing of his two police officers.
He said authorities are exerting all efforts to identify the suspects and the motive for the attack.
