
CAYETANO CHAMPIONS LIVELIHOOD AND SKILLS DEVELOPMENT IN LAGUNA. The office of Senator Alan Peter Cayetano marked a day of milestones on January 20, 2025 with two initiatives empowering communities in Laguna. In Biñan, 100 graduates of the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority’s Special Training for Employment Program (TESDA-STEP) were honored during a ceremony at the Xavier Technical Training Center. The graduates, 50 certified in Driving NC II and 50 in Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW) NC II, expressed their gratitude for the skills training, which has that equipped them for meaningful employment opportunities. The event was also attended by School Administrator Gertie Quintela and Julius Espinosa, representative of Congresswoman Len Alonte. On the same day, the senator’s office partnered with the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) to deliver Sustainable Livelihood Program (SLP) assistance to 150 beneficiaries in Brgy, Halang, Laguna, many of whom were women. The initiative, supported by Laguna Governor Ramil Hernandez, Laguna Second District Representative Ruth Hernandez, and DSWD Region 4-A officials, provided capacity-building and essential aid to improve the recipients’ daily lives. Cayetano’s efforts highlight his commitment to bridging the gap between education and livelihood, ensuring that communities are equipped to contribute to national progress while addressing immediate needs.
