50 police officers from Batangas Police Provincial Office recently completed a Police Explosive Reconnaissance Course (PERC). Graduates received certificates of completion in the closing ceremony held at Batangas PPO Grandstand on June 20, 2023.
PCol Rainerio de Chavez Acting Provincial Director was assisted by PLtCol Christopher dela Pena, Acting Chief, RSTU4A, PCpt Nestorio Mercado, Chief, TPS, RLDDD and PLt Daniel SJ Cruz- Team Leader, Provincial Explosive and Canine Unit, Batangas in giving Certificates and Awards to worthy participants who excelled in the said course.
PLtCol Jepthe Banderado , Deputy Provincial Director for Operation said that the knowledge and skills of the participants earned during their training will serve its purpose. The 15-day training that sought to equip police officers with knowledge and competency involved military explosive ordnance, detection, identification, explosive-related incident investigation and target analysis, techniques, searching methods, and the do’s and don’ts in dealing with a bomb threat incident.
“The knowledge that we possess is one of our most important assets, so we cannot afford to be complacent. Let us never stop ourselves from learning and upgrading, not only for our personal consumption but for the betterment of the community we are serving and protecting”. -PCol de Chavez .
