ANTI-DRUG operatives on Sunday arrested a 63-year-old man after claiming some P345,000 worth of imported shabu in an entrapment operation in Masantol, Pampanga.
Suspect Abner Bautista, a resident of Bgy. Sta. Lucia, Masantol, was arrested for claiming a package containing the imported drugs on National Road in Sta. Lucia Matua, Masantol.
According to the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency, the package came from California, USA and arrived at the Port of Clark on February 18.
“The package containing illegal drugs was initially tagged as suspicious by the x-ray inspector. K-9 sniffing and field testing using Rigaku Rogeny were conducted that led to the discovery and confirmation of its illegal contents,” the PDEA said.
Seized from the suspect were at least 50 grams of shabu worth P345,000, a senior citizen ID, and a cellular phone.
The operation was conducted jointly by operatives led by PDEA Central Luzon, Clark Inter-Agency Task Group, Bureau of Customs – Port of Clark and Masantol police.
The arrested suspect was charged with importation of dangerous drugs.
