ITINANGGI ng Office of the Vice President (OVP) na hindi umano si Vice President ang naging dahilan ng pagpapahinto ng mga sasakyan sa Commonwealth Avenue nitong Huwebes ng umaga.
Ang pahayag na ito ay inilabas ng OVP kaugnay sa kumakalat na video sa social media na nagpatigil sa daloy ng trapiko sa naturang lugar dahil sa umano’y tatawid ang VP ayon sa isang pulis.
Sa ipinakitang viral video sa X Twitter ni dating Bayan Muna Represenattive Teddy Casino, sinabi ng isang pulis na “May dadaan po tayong VIP, si VP magko-cross lang po saglit”.
Sinabi ni Casino sa isang panayam sa radio, na ipinadala lamang umano ito ng isang kaibigan at bago pa umano ito magviral ay may nag-upload na rin nitong video.
Depensa naman ng OVP , nasa Mindanao si VP Sara upang dumalo sa selebrasyon ng World Teacher’s Day.
Ayon pa sa OVP, “The Vice President did not ask QCPD and will never ask government agencies, including law enforcement bodies, to carry out actions that would inconvenience the public or cause them harm,” .
Dagdag pa ng ahensiya, “The viral video is spreading injurious information that is purely grounded in falsity,” .
Nanawagan na sa Quezon City Police District si Duterte na imbestigahan ang pangyayari “including the liability of the person who took the video and maliciously appended the traffic stop to the Vice President.”
Sinabi rin ni VP Sara na pangalanan ang kung sinong ‘VIP “ ito para managot ang responsable sa naging sanhi ng trapik sa Commonwealth.
Humingi naman ng paumanhin ang QCPD Public Information Office sa nangyari, “The said incident stemmed from a confusion and lapse in judgement of our policeman manning the traffic during that time. It appears that our policeman overreacted when he stopped the traffic for a few minutes, because of misleading information he overheard,” .
Nagkamali lamang umano sa pagkakarinig ang pulis na nakuhaan ng video.Wala rin umanong aktibidad sa lugar ang Bise-presidente.
Ayon pa kay Police Lieutenant Colonel May Genio, station commander ng Police Stations 14, “Pero kung papanoorin po natin ang video , yung uploader ang nagbanggit ng pangalan na VP Sara,”
“I have ordered the relief of my policeman and put him under investigation to determine administrative liability for his actions. We assure the public that this incident will not happen again,” ayon pa kay Genio.
Hindi naman naging klaro pa kung meron ba talagang dumaang VIP o kung sino ang VIP na dumaan na siyang itinururong sanhi ng matinding trapiko kagabi sa bahagi ng Commonwealth .
