THE House of Representatives’ (HRep) Legislative Information Resources Management Department on Wednesday held a fun run for secretariat officials and employees in celebration of HRep Month every October.
The fun run seeks to promote physical fitness, camaraderie and awareness of inclusivity and diversity among HRep employees dubbed as “Run For Inclusivity and Diversity (RFID).
It also seeks to provide employees a venue to recognize their differences, celebrate the uniqueness of the institution and promote unity among HRep officials and staff through every step and ever stride.
The sudden afternoon downpour did not dampen their spirit to complete three laps of the 1-kilometer course to finish the race. Starting and finishing point of the race is the facade of the Legislative Library, Archives and Museum building.
From the starting point, participants passed through in front of the main building leading to the RVM building, plant nursery, turned right at the Bureau of Fire Protection office towards the helipad area, turned right at the Legislative Security Bureau building towards the South Wing Annex building and finally turning right leading back to the library.
Winners of the 3 -kilometer race are Jonald Badion of the Engineering Service, first place with P10,000 cash prize; Dante Sagay of the Committee Affairs Department (CAD), second place (P7,500); and third placer was Ariel Aquino, also of the CAD, with a cash prize of P5,000.
For the best in outfit category, Ariel Benipayo of the Legislative Operations Department won first place; Serina Dizaon and Jay Dayao, second and third place, respectively. They were awarded P2,500 each.
Forty out of the 109 personnel of the Finance Department participated in the fun run with biggest in delegation category getting P4,000 prize money.
“Ang lulupit ninyo wala makakapigil sa taga Kongreso. Again in behalf of the officials and staff of the LIRMD, maraming, maraming, maraming salamat sa lahat ng nag-participate sa lahat ng nabasa, sa lahat ng nakatapos, thank you, thank you, thank you,” Deputy Secretary General Bobby Maling said.
