PINAPA-SUBPOENA ni House Deputy Majority Leader at ACT-CIS partylist Rep Erwin Tulfo ang mga opisyal ng Civil Service Commission (CSC) dahil sa hindi pagdalo ng mga ito ng walang dahilan sa hearing sa Kongreso ukol sa pagbibigay ng trabaho sa mga PWDs.
Sa isinagawang pagdinig ng House Special Committee on Persons with Disabilities sa pamumuno ni Agusan del Sur Rep. Alfelito Bascug, ukol sa House Bill No. 8941 o An Act Expanding the Positions Reserved for qualified PWDs, amending for the purpose Republic Act 7277 as amended, otherwise known as an “Act providing for the Rehabilitation, self-development, and self-reliance of disabled person and their integration into the mainstream of the society and for other purposes, providing incentives therefore and for other purposes,” napuna ni Tulfo na wala kahit isang kawani sa naturang pagdinig kaya agad nitong kinwestyon ng kumite.
“I don’t see the CSC government agency. They did not even send an explanation why they can’t come over,” ani Tulfo, na isa sa main author ng bill kasama sina ACT-CIS partylist Reps. Edvic Yap, Jocelyn Tulfo, Benguet Rep. Eric Yap at Quezon City 2nd district Rep. Ralph Wendel Tulfo.
“I think it’s high time we subpoenaed this agency,” dagdag ni Tulfo.
Sinita rin ng mambabatas ang mga ahensya ng pamahalaan sa tila hindi pagsunod ng mga ito sa pagbibigay ng posisyon o trabaho sa mga PWDs.
“I want to ask them (CSC) bakit hindi pa nila naabot yung detalye na sinasabi natin for PWD. We should be the example in the government. Because if we show the example to others, especially the private sector, susunod naman yan,” paliwanag ni Tulfo
“How can we explain to the private sector, Mr. Chair, kung mismo ang gobyerno hindi nag-hahire ng persons with disabilities?” dagdag pa nito.
Sa kanyang sponsorship speech iginiit ni Tulfo ang kahalagahan ng naturang batas para sa mga PWDs.
“ These measures are expected to increase employment opportunities, empower individuals with disabilities, promote social inclusion, and incentivize employers to hire more qualified individuals with disabilities, giit ni Tulfo.
“I urge my colleagues to support this bill. By passing this legislation, we will not only fulfill our constitutional duty to protect the rights of all citizens but also demonstrate our commitment to building a more just and equitable society,” dagdag pa ng mambabatas.
