MILLENIAL senatorial candidate Camille Villar received a strong endorsement from former Manila Mayor Isko Moreno Domagoso during a campaign rally held in Paco, Manila, drawing enthusiastic supporters despite the light downpour.
The rally featured the full slate of “Yorme’s Choice,” Moreno’s local lineup that includes vice mayoral bet Chi Atienza, 5th District congressional aspirant Rep. Amado Bagatsing, and a complete roster of city council hopefuls.
Addressing the crowd along Pedro Gil Street, Domagoso publicly named Villar as one of his senatorial picks in the upcoming May 12, 2025 elections.
Domagoso told the crowd that Villar deserved one of their 12 votes for senator, highlighting her presence and commitment to the people of Manila.
“Pwede ba isingit na natin ito sa labing dalawa? Ang ating senador, Camille Villar!” he said to roaring applause.
Grateful for the endorsement, Villar vowed to champion key causes in the Senate that benefit Manileños, including support for small businesses, affordable housing, gender inclusivity, and women’s empowerment.
She also highlighted her family’s deep roots in Manila, sharing how her father, former Senate President and real estate mogul Manny Villar – born and raised in Moriones, Tondo and started out as a seafood vendor in Divisoria, a background she said instilled in her a deep understanding of the struggles and hopes of ordinary Filipinos.
Likewise, Domagoso—himself a son of Tondo—rose from humble beginnings to become one of Manila’s most dynamic mayors, known for launching high-impact projects and prioritizing basic services during his term.
Villar said she shares the Domagoso-Atienza tandem’s mission of ensuring that every Manileño has access to essential services such as decent housing, quality healthcare, education, and livelihood opportunities.
Now leading the polls in the mayoral race, Domagoso is mounting a political comeback after a three-year break from public office, drawing strong grassroots support fueled by his track record and reputation for decisive, pro-people governance.
