(L) Hon. Leo-Jon P. Ramos, Executive Judge, RTC Branch 85 (M) Hon. Noel M. Lindog, Presiding Judge, Family Court Branch 2 (R) and Hon. Judge Rose Marie J. Manalang-Austria, President of the RTC Batangas Judges Association and Chairwoman of the Justice League 2025 having fun conversation while watching the game.
Batangas City— FOR the first time in history, judges, sheriffs, and personnel from various Regional Trial Courts (RTCs) across Batangas Province came together for a groundbreaking event — the inaugural Justice League Sportsfest, held at the University of Batangas (UB) Millennium Gymnasium.
Led by Hon. Judge Rose Marie J. Manalang-Austria, President of the RTC Batangas Judges Association and Chairwoman of the Justice League 2025, alongside Vice Chairwoman Hon. Judge Maria Socorro Godoy of the Family Court of Batangas City, the event was a celebration of unity, health, and camaraderie within the judiciary.
Participants gathered early at the Dreamzone, Provincial Capitol, before parading toward UB Gymnasium to formally open the sportsfest with a symbolic torch lighting ceremony.
Court representatives were grouped into three clusters:
- Cluster 1: Taal, Balayan, and Nasugbu
- Cluster 2: Batangas City
- Cluster 3: Lipa City, Tanauan, and Rosario
The clusters competed in basketball, volleyball, badminton, Zumba, and even Filipino traditional games. A Zumba contest — with participants donning creative “Justice League” costumes — opened the festivities, with Cluster 3 winning first place, followed by Cluster 1 and Cluster 2.
The Mr. and Ms. Justice League 2025 title was claimed by Cluster 1.
In the ballgames:
- Basketball: Champion – Cluster 2; 2nd – Cluster 3; 3rd – Cluster 1
- Badminton (Singles): Male – Cluster 1; Female – Cluster 3
- Badminton (Doubles): Both Male and Female categories were won by Cluster 2
- Volleyball: Champion – Cluster 3; 2nd – Cluster 2; 3rd – Cluster 1
According to Judge Godoy, the initiative was created to give court employees a break from their daily routines. “We’re always confined in our courtrooms. We needed something that encourages us to stay active, reconnect, and refresh ourselves. This is about building camaraderie and wellness — when we return, we’re ready to face our duties again.”
Judge Manalang-Austria expressed gratitude to the Office of the Court Administrator (OCA) of the Supreme Court, which supported the event financially. “We hope this becomes a regular activity — if not annually, perhaps every other year. It’s a fresh way to strengthen bonds among our court staff. More than just competition, it’s about togetherness.”
Beyond the major sports events, traditional Palarong Pinoy games were also included to ensure full participation from all attendees. Winners received trophies and cash prizes.
The day not only fostered a spirit of friendly competition, but also marked a new chapter for the Batangas judiciary — one that champions both excellence in service and wellness in community.
