THE House of Representatives on Wednesday held a Holy Mass to celebrate the life of Director Mauricio “Morie” Pulhin, chief of the technical staff of the Committee on Ways and Means, who was slain on June 15, 2025.
Fr. Boy Buhay, parish priest of the Holy Family Parish in Pasig City, asked attendees composed of House secretariat officials and employees, as well as congressional staff, to pray for the slain official.
Leyte Rep. Ferdinand Romualdez, Speaker of the 19th Congress, described Pulhin as a “respected public servant and a devoted family man.” He has asked law enforcement agencies to find and capture those responsible for the crime.
On June 25, 2025, it was reported that police had captured suspects involved in the slaying. Another four are still at large.
