A TOTAL of 49 distressed overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) and two dependents from Jeddah and Al Khobar, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) have safely retuned home and were provided with immediate assistance and whole-of-government support as directed by President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.
The repatriates are distressed OFWs staying in the Bahay Kalinga shelters in Jeddah and Al Khobar, who experienced unfortunate situation on their overseas employment and have requested assistance to return home back with their families.
The OFWs safely arrived back in Manila in two batches on Tuesday, August 19,2025, with 17 OFWs from Al Khobar via flight Qatar Airways QR932, and 32 OFWs and two dependents from Jeddah via Saudia Airlines Flight SV870.
OWWA Administrator Patricia Yvonne Caunan, along with the teams of DMW and OWWA welcomed the repatriates who all receive immediate financial assistance through the DMW AKSYON Fund and all the necessary support from OWWA, including temporary accommodation and transportation services back to their respective provinces.
The OFWs also received medical check-up from the MIAA Medical, and were referred to concerned government agencies for assistance for their productive and sustainable reintegration.
The repatriation of the OFWs was made possible through the joint efforts of the Philippine Embassy and Migrant Workers Offices in KSA in compliance with the President’s directive that no OFWs will be left behind and ensuring their safe return to the Philippines
