PUV drivers sa PITX tumanggap ng fuel subsidy

 SA gitna ng mataas na presyo ng krudo, patuloy ang pamahalaan sa pagbibigay ng tulong-pinansyal sa mga drayber at operator ng mga public utility vehicles (PUVs) o pampublikong sasakyan nitong Martes.

Pinangunahan ni Pangulong Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. ang pamamahagi ng fuel subsidy sa Parañaque Integrated Terminal Exchange (PITX) upang maibsan ang epekto ng pagtaas ng presyo ng langis sa mga bus operator at drayber.

Personal na binisita ng Pangulo ang PITX upang tiyakin na maayos at organisado ang paunang rollout ng pamamahagi.

“Nandito ako para tiyakin na ‘yung aming ginagawa na fuel subsidy ay maayos kasi mag-start tayo today. Pero hindi lamang dito sa Metro Manila, pero all over the country na ito,” ani ng Pangulo habang kinakausap ang hindi bababa sa 27 bus operators na tumanggap ng tulong sa pamamagitan ng tseke.

Ang inisyatibang ito ay bahagi ng PhP2.5-bilyong pondo para sa PUVs sa ilalim ng Fuel Subsidy Project ng Department of Transportation (DOTr).

Sa ilalim ng programa, makatatanggap ang mga bus operator ng PhP10,000 kada unit, habang ang mga drayber ay makakakuha ng PhP5,000 bawat isa.

Ayon sa Pangulo, ipamamahagi ang subsidy sa iba’t ibang paraan—kabilang ang tseke, fuel cards, cash, at direktang paglilipat sa banko o e-wallet accounts—upang matiyak na mabilis at maayos itong matatanggap ng mga benepisyaryo.

“Tulungan ninyo naman kami para ‘yung mga ating riding public ay hindi masyadong mahirapan, at hindi sila masyadong mabigatan sa pamasahe dahil nga alam naman natin kung ano ‘yung pangyayari – nagbabago ‘yung presyo ng langis all over the world,” ayon ng Pangulo.

Binigyang-diin ng Punong Ehekutibo ang kahalagahan ng pagtutulungan ng pamahalaan at pribadong sektor upang mapagaan ang epekto ng pabagu-bagong presyo ng langis.

Hinimok din ni Pangulong Marcos ang mga transport operator na magbigay ng suhestiyon kung paano pa mapapabuti ang sistema para sa kapakinabangan ng parehong operator at ng riding public.

“Kung palagay namin ay kaya naming gawin para pagandahin pa ang sistema, please tell us. Dahil ang gusto natin is as convenient as possible, as easy as possible, at as quick – ‘yung mabilis as possible,” aniya.

“Thank you all for being part of the solution at patuloy nating gagawin ito hanggat kailangan,” dagdag pa ng Pangulo.

Saklaw ng programa ang iba’t ibang sektor ng transportasyon kabilang ang jeepney, bus, taxi, UV Express, Transport Network Vehicle Services (TNVS), tricycle, at delivery services.

Tinatayang mahigit 245,000 drayber at operator ng higit 1.18 milyong sasakyan ang makikinabang sa inisyatiba.

Nagsimula na ang pamamahagi para sa mga pangunahing PUV ngayong araw, habang nakatakda naman ang tulong para sa mga drayber ng tricycle at delivery service pagkatapos ng Semana Santa.

Para sa mga drayber, ipapamahagi ang subsidy sa pamamagitan ng e-wallet platforms tulad ng GCash o Maya, kung saan sasagutin ng pamahalaan ang transaction fees upang matiyak na buo nilang matatanggap ang halaga.

Layunin ng hakbang na suportahan ang mga manggagawa sa transportasyon na labis na naapektuhan ng pagtaas ng gastos sa krudo.

Batay sa mga ulat, may ilang drayber na pansamantalang tumigil sa pamamasada dahil sa mataas na gastos, habang may ilang bus companies naman na nagbawas ng biyahe.

Bukod sa fuel subsidy, magbibigay din ng tulong-pinansyal ang Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) sa ilalim ng Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situations (AICS) program para sa piling sektor ng transportasyon sa Metro Manila.

Samantala, nananatili ang diskwento sa pamasahe para sa mga pasahero ng tren sa LRT-2 at MRT-3, kung saan patuloy na tumatanggap ng 50% discount ang senior citizens, persons with disabilities (PWDs), at mga estudyante.

Maaari ring makinabang ang mga commuter sa Love Bus “Libreng Sakay” Program na ipinatutupad mula pa noong Hulyo 2025 sa Metro Manila, Cebu, at Davao.
