TWELVE suspects, including an AWOL policeman, were arrested on Friday during a series of police operations in Bulacan.
A report to Police Regional Office 3 director Brig. Gen. Jose Hidalgo Jr. by Bulacan police director Col. Relly Arnedo identified the nabbed dismissed police officer as Emmanuel Amutan of Paliwas, Obando, Bulacan.
Amutan was caught during the implementation of a search warrant by members of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group-Regional Field Unit 3 and the Obando police.
Seized from Amutan were one cal. .9 mm pistol loaded with six full metal bullets and eight hollow point live ammunition.
The ex-cop suspect admitted that the confiscated firearm is a PNP issued firearm when he was still an active policeman.
In a series of anti-drug busts conducted by the Angat Station Drug Enforcement Units and the San Jose Del Monte City police, arrested were Elmer Binuya, 34; Rolina Manuel, 46; Miracle Groyon, 43; Joselito Nocelo, 48; and John John Eliaz, 23.
Confiscated from the five were 12 sachets of shabu valued at P44,880, drug paraphernalia, and the marked money.
Six persons were arrested in different hot pursuit operations conducted by the tracker team of the Malolos, Baliwag, Bulacan, Calumpit, and Marilao police.
The six were caught for estafa, qualified theft, and violation of the ecological solid waste management law.
“These string of operations by the Bulacan police only prove that we have no let-up on our efforts to intensify, strengthen, and focus on our anti-criminality drive,” Hidalgo said.
