A Department of Education (DEpEd) service bus yesterday fell off a ravine killing a teacher om Orani, Bataan.
The name of the fatality was withheld as police are yet to inform the family of the victim.
Initial reports from the Bataan police said a DepEd service bus driven by Marcelino Oliva, 62, of San Jose Del Monte City, Bulacan, was travelling on Vicinal Road in Bgy. Tala, Orani town when the bus’ breaks malfunctioned and fell off the cliff.
Fourty-seven teachers from Payatas Elementary School in Quezon City were the passengers of the ill-fated bus.
“Tatlo po kaming bus, ‘yung nauuna po sa aming bus bigla na lamang pong nahulog,” Mon Aspa, in a shared video said.
“Galing po kami sa seminar. Pauwi na po kami nang QC (Quezon City) nang mangyari ang insidente,” Saspa added.
The driver and other passengers sustained injuries and were brought to the nearest hospital for treatment.
