THE construction of the Cavite-Laguna Expressway (CALAX) Governor’s Drive Interchange has reached nearly 40% completion, bringing it closer to its anticipated opening in the second half of 2025.
The 8.64-kilometer segment will link the Silang (Aguinaldo) Interchange to Governor’s Drive in General Trias, Cavite. Once completed, the new interchange is expected to improve connectivity and ease traffic congestion in the growing economic hubs of Cavite and Laguna.
According to project developers, the ongoing works include road excavation, bridge construction, and drainage installations. Officials remain optimistic about meeting the 2025 deadline, citing steady progress despite logistical challenges.
The CALAX project is part of the government’s broader infrastructure push to enhance transportation networks and promote economic growth. When fully completed, CALAX will span approximately 45 kilometers, providing a seamless link between Cavite and Laguna, benefiting thousands of commuters and businesses.
Motorists and local residents eagerly anticipate the opening, which is expected to cut travel time and boost commercial activity in the area. Authorities continue to monitor developments to ensure the project stays on schedule.
