Cebu City – The management of the newly-built Cebu-Cordova Link Expressway (CCLEX) has allowed the entry of motorbikes with displacements of at least 110cc to answer the clamor of motorcycle users and make the expressway more inclusive and accessible to more road users.
According to CCLEX, they have started allowing motorcycle with lower displacement last September 14, 2022. Various brand of scooters like the Honda Beat 110 or Kawasaki’s KSR 110, Yamaha YBR 110 and other motorcycles with the same displacements can now use the tollway.
The decision came after careful consideration and simulation inside the CCLEX by Cebu Link Expressway Corporation (CCLEC) – the agency that manages the expressway. Additional safety features were also installed on the expressway including a motorcycle lane.
Motorcycles with engine displacements of 110cc to 399cc are considered under Vehicle Class M1 with a toll rate of P60.
Owners of 110cc motorcycles can now start to get their CCLEX RFID at the CCLEX Customer Service Centers near the Toll Plaza, Anjo World, and Landers Superstore for free. Walk-ins are also accepted.
CCLEX will use an all-electronic toll collection system. To give more time to motorists to have the RFID sticker installed on their vehicles, cash payments will be accepted in the meantime. The full electronic toll collection will be implemented on October 1, 2022.
Motorists in Luzon using the expressways are also hoping that same decision will be made for NLEX, SLEX, TPLEX, CLLEX including the skyways.
