Dentist nabbed for alleged non-payment of taxes

A FEMALE dentist on Wednesday was arrested by the police in Cavite for alleged non-payment of taxes for several years.

Nabbed was Dr. Marilou Carbonell Escaño, of Bgy. Salawag, Dasmarinas City, Cavite.

The suspect, who according to police is included in the list of other wanted persons in the district level, was arrested in an entrapment operation in her clinic at Paliparan Molino Road in Bgy. Salawag, Dasmarinas City.

Combined forces of the Special Mayor’s Reaction Team – DID/D2 led by Police Maj. Dave N Garcia and Police Capt. Edgar Z. Julian under the direct supervision of Police Maj. Edward G Samonte, chief S. Ma.R.T, and MDIT-RIU-NCR personnel led by Police Capt. Jamil Datong, arrested the female dentist in her Agathos Dental Clinic in Bgy. Paliparan Molino Road in Bgy. Salawag.

Officers were armed with a warrant of arrest  for violation of Sec. 255 of the National Internal Revenue Code of 1997 in relation to Sec. 255 (d) and 256 (f) or non-payment of tax issued by Hon. Paulino Quitoras Gallegos, Presiding Judge of the Manila Regional Trial Court Branch 47.

Police Capt. Edgar Julian, chief of the Investigation MPD Smart, said the arrest was made following days of surveillance.

      Last Wednesday, two policemen pretended to be customers at the clinic and had their teeth cleaned. After they confirmed that the accused was inside the clinic, authorities immediately implemented the arrest.
