
DOH- ILOCOS Regional Director Paula Paz M. Sydiongco turns over hearing aids to 10 recipients who were diagnosed with hearing loss during the “Sulong Kalusugan Para sa mga Katutubo” Medical Caravan held in the town of Sison, Pangasinan on April 21m 2023.
Department of Health – Ilocos Region delivered on its promise of providing hearing aids to patients who were diagnosed with hearing loss during the “Sulong Kalusugan Para sa Katutubo Medical Caravan” held in the town of Sison, Pangasinan last April 21, 2021.
A total of ten (10) hearing aids were given to ten IP recipients namely Maria Bogtong, Oilene Dela Cruz, Marcelina Mendoza, Dennis Panganiban, Talyn Aglabin, Jesus Doctolero, Roberto Quinot. Cristina Sangdaan, Benjamin Olpind and JM Russel Manipon during a turn-over ceremony held in San Fernando City La Union on August 15, 2023.
“Ito po ang katuparan ng aming pangako na magbibigay ng mga hearing aid sa ating mga IPs sa Sison, Pangasinan na mada-diagnosed na mayroong hearing impairment or hearing loss. Ngayon ay maririnig na nila ng klaro ang mga huni sa kanilang kapaligiran at mas madali na silang makakapag-communicate sa kanilang mga pamilya at kaibigan,” Regional Director Paula Paz M. Sydiongco stated.
“We will continue to provide health care needs of our IPs to ensure that they will have equitable access to healthcare services.”
Recipients were also given lectures on the proper use and care of the hearing device.
Sydiongco encouraged beneficiaries to take good care of their hearing devices. “Ingatan po ninyo at sundin ang mga tamang panuntunan sa paggamit nito upang magamit po ninyo ito sa matagal na panahon.”
The hearing device has a two-year warranty period including a scheduled periodical check-up from the distributor.

An audiometrist, Fred P. Bentayo, inserts the hearing aid into the ear of an elderly and a two-year-old child who was both diagnosed with hearing loss during the “Sulong Kalusugan para sa Katutubo ng Sison, Pangasinan”, both were among the ten beneficiaries of hearing devices given by the DOH-Ilocos Regional Office.
