THE Department of Health (DOH) – Ilocos Region officially led the turnover and ribbon-cutting ceremony of the newly constructed Nueva Era Super Health Center (SHC).
The new primary care hub was funded with ₱10 million under the DOH Health Facilities Enhancement Program (HFEP) for Fiscal Year 2023.
The facility was realized through a strategic partnership with the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Nueva Era, championed by the legislative initiative of Ilocos Norte Second District Congressman Angelo Marcos Barba.
The super health center will function as an advanced primary care hub for local residents, delivering essential diagnostic medical services, outpatient care, a dedicated pharmacy, and emergency maternal and medical response.
It will bridge significant geographical gaps, saving families from traveling to distant cities for standard medical consultations. It will provide and prioritize the welfare of grassroots communities.
The ceremony was headed by Department of Health (DOH) – Ilocos Norte Provincial Health Team Leader John Lee Gacusan and Congressman Angelo Marcos Barba, who led the inaugural ribbon-cutting alongside Nueva Era Mayor Atty. Aldrin R. Garvida, expressed his gratitude to the health department. He reiterated his commitment to expanding local infrastructure, emphasizing that decentralized healthcare is the key to achieving a truly resilient workforce in Ilocos Norte.
