CAMP VICENTE LIM, Calamba City, Laguna – A former police chief of San Pedro City in Laguna was found dead in his condo unit in Biñan City on Wednesday.
The victim was Lt. Col. Victor Ben Isidore Aclan, 37, said a report submitted to Calabarzon police regional director Brig. Gen. Carlito Gaces by the Laguna Police Provincial Office headed by Col. Randy Glenn G. Silvio.
Aclan was found dead inside his room at the Holland Park Condominium in Bgy. San Francisco in Biñan City at 8:30 a.m. on Wednesday.
Cpl. Japer Aaron Mercado, personal security of Aclan, told probers that he rushed to the victim’s room after he heard a gunshot.
According to Mercado, when he opened the door, he was shocked to see Aclan bloodied and dead.
Aclan and four other personnel of the Biñan City Police Station were awarded the Medalya ng Kadakilaan in September last year in connection with the arrest of two Nigerians and their Filipino cohorts for involvement in a bank fraud.
Police are conducting an in-depth investigation into the incident.
