Former female police officer-cum-drug peddler nabbed in sting

A DISMISSED policewoman wanted for illegal drug trafficking in Bicol region on Friday was arrested in buy-bust operation in Camarines Sur.
Philippine National Police -Integrity Monitoring and Enforcement Group director Brig. Gen. Warren de Leon identified the arrested suspect as ex-Cpl. Richelle Mata, a former member of the Camarines Sur Police Provincial Office.
Mata went on AWOL after she tested positive for substance abuse during a random drug test in 2019. She went on AWOL which triggered her dismissal from the police service.
She later was included in the watch list of the Camarines Sur Police Provincial Office and the PRO5.
Members of the PRO5 Regional Drug Enforcement Unit, the Camarines Sur PPO and the Bato Municipal Police Station conducted the entrapment around 1:50 p.m. Friday.
The suspect was placed under arrest after she handed the drugs to the poseur and received the buy-bust money topped by a marked P500 bill.
