A GROOM and two others died while 28 more passengers were injured when the jeepney they were riding fell off cliff in Torrijos, Marinduque.
The fatalities were engineer Allan Roldan, a 10-year-old girl, and an elderly man, Torrijos police chief Lt. Lily Nicolas said.
The victims were traveling on a jeepney driven by Roderick Regardo from a wedding ceremony in Sta. Cruz town when they met the accident.
According to the driver, the vehicle’s brakes malfunctioned and he lost control of the wheels.
“Sabi nung driver, nawalan siya ng preno noong pababa na ng kalsada. Medyo pakurba po ang daan, may bangin, nawalan na raw siya ng kontrol sa manibela,” Nicolas said.
The injured victims were rushed to the nearest hospital for treatment.
