POLICE arrested a 73-year-old man for stabbing dead his 46-year-old live-in partner due to jealousy in Sta. Rosa City, Laguna.
Sta. Rosa City police chief Lt. Col. Paul Macasa Sabulao identified the victim as Ronalyn Javier Miranda, a resident of Binan City, Laguna.
The victim was declared sustained six stab wounds and was declared dead on arrival at Saint James Hospital .
The suspect was Miranda’s live-in partner Agustin Dela Cruz Barcelona Jr., a backhoe operator and a resident of the city.
The stabbing occurred on a bridge in Bgy. Dita in Sta. Rosa City.
An investigation showed the suspect got angry when the victim refused his offer to bring her to her workplace.
Witnesses said the victim and the suspect quarreled until Barcelona pulled out a knife and stabbed Miranda repeatedly.
The suspect admitted to police that he got jealous after seeing a photo of Miranda with another man.
The photo,he said, was sent to his cellphone.
Barcelona was charged with murder before the City Prosecutors Office.
