A KOREAN national on Thursday allegedly committed suicide by hanging in their apartment in Malabanias, Angeles City, Pampanga.
The victim was identified as Joobok Lee, 53, of Pinatubo St., Clarkview, Malabanias in the city.
Lee was found lifeless by his live-in partner, who immediately sought the help of the police.
Officers led by Angeles City station commander Maj. Dexter Ebbat immediately responded .
Police found the victim hanging from the steel grill of the comfort room, with a belt looped around his neck.
According to the Angeles City SOCO team led by Maj. Christine Joy Padua, there were no signs of violence at the crime scene.
The victim’s live-in partner told police that prior to Lee’s death, she saw the victim outside the apartment smoking when she arrived after bringing her son to school.
The woman proceeded to the bedroom to take a nap while the victim followed her. When she woke up, Lee was no longer in the bedroom.
The live-in partner said she assumed Lee was in the bathroom because it was locked. Minutes had passed and when she knocked on the bathroom, no one was answering, prompting her to peep at the window of the comfort room .
The woman was shocked to see Lee hanging from the steel grill.
According to the live-in partner, the victim was addicted to gambling in the casino and always lose, which caused their frequent quarrels.
Authorities are investigating if there was foul play in the death of Lee.
