Korean, Pinay cohort nabbed in Angeles drug buy-bust

A KOREAN national and his Filipina cohort on Friday were arrested in a buy-bust operation in Angeles City, Pampanga.
Police Regional Office 3 director Brig. Gen. Jose Hidalgo Jr. said members of the Angeles City Drug Enforcement Unit, City Mobile Force Company and Angeles City Police Stations 5 and 6 arrested Korean national Jeong Eung Il alias “Matt,” 23, and Maureen Ocampo, 26, both residents of Bgy. Margot, Angeles City.
Eung and Ocampo were caught in an entrapment operation at Deca Wake Park, Deca Homes Residences, Bgy. Margot, Angeles City.
Hidalgo said seized from the Korean national, who is listed in the police gallery as a high-value individual (HVI), were two canisters containing suspected high-grade marijuana or Kush worth P30,000, the marked and boodle money, and a white vehicle with plate no. WDS 783.
The two suspects will be charged with violation of Sections 5 and 11, Article II of Republic Act 9165.
“Your police here in Central Luzon will have no let-up on our crackdown on all forms of lawlessness, especially illegal drugs, as we continue to deliver police services to the communities of Region 3,” Hildalgo said.
