Laguna Police Provincial Office (PPO) extends Valentines Day celebration to a child burn survivor on February 14, 2022, at Barangay Labuin in Sta Cruz, Laguna.
The ‘My Brother’s Keeper’ Valentines Day special celebration of Laguna PPO headed by the Acting Provincial Director PCol. Rogarth B Campo, distributed sacks of rice to Laguna Police Provincial Office personnel, and also to a child burn survivor.
Brenda Tamporas, a 10-year-old child whose legs were amputated after suffering from third degree burn was seen by Police Executive Master Sergeant (PEMS) Edwin De Mesa of Laguna PPO in a Facebook post of a concerned citizen appealing for help for their basic necessities and medication which inspired PEMS De Mesa to do something for the child.
PEMS De Mesa who received a sack of rice from PCol Campo was tasked to extend it to the child in celebration of the Valentines Day. Hence, PEMS De Mesa together with the personnel of Logistics of Laguna PPO and a Tanod from Barangay Labuin immediately visited the child and gave the sack of rice then added two (2) grocery packs and one-thousand-peso (P1000.00) cash to the child.
He also said, “naantig talaga ang puso ko nung nakita ko ‘yon kaya’t sabi ko sa asawa ko, kailangan may magawa ako para sa batang iyon.”
Brenda Tamporas’ mother was teary-eyed as she expressed her gratitude.
PCOL CAMPO encouraged his personnel to continue to extend their blessings especially to less fortunate individuals to achieve even their basic necessities without expecting anything in return as an act of love to humanity.
