THIRTY-FIVE persons spent the Heart’s Day in jail following their arrest for illegal gambling in the different areas in Quezon.
Quezon police director Col. Joel Villanueva said the suspects were caught in eleven operations carried out by members of the Quezon Police Provincial Office.
Of the 35 arrested suspects, two were caught in Sariaya town while two others were nabbed for illegal cock fight in Mulanay municipality.
Twenty were arrested while playing tong- its in different areas while five others were nabbed in Tayabas City for playing bet game.
Villanueva said the remaining seven gamblers were arrested for playing pool game in San Andres town and in Real town for playing cara’y cruz.
The official said the QPPO continues to mount full-scale operations against illegal gambling and other forms of criminality in the province.
