DOH-Ilocos Regional Director Paula Paz M. Sydiongco and Ilocos Norte Governor Matthew Joseph M. Manotoc leads the launching ceremony of Bakunahang Bayan PinasLakas Special Vaccination Days in Laoag City on September 28, 2022 at the Ilocos Norte College of Arts and Trades (INCAT).
Department of Health – Ilocos Region and the Provincial Government of Ilocos Norte vaccinated a total of 2,088 individuals ages 12 years old and above during the launching of Bakunahang Bayan PinasLakas Special Vaccination Days on September 28, 2022 held at the Ilocos Norte College of Arts and Trades (INCAT).
The event was spearheaded by the Provincial Health Office together with the Provincial DOH Office Ilocos Norte, Philippine Red Cross including various medical societies and volunteer organizations of the province.
According to Regional Director Paula Paz M. Sydiongco. a total of 1464 eligible individuals received their primary and booster shots during the event. “We have also provided second booster shots to 541 senior citizens, and vaccinated 29 individuals for their first dose and 54 for their second dose.”
“We are very grateful for the overwhelming support of the residents of Laoag City for the vaccination campaign. This is the highest turn-out of vaccination output in Ilocos region. The successful event will boost our efforts towards the attainment of our Goals for the “Bakunahang Bayan Tungo sa Mas Pinalakas na Pilipinas.”
“Sa mga hindi pa po nakapagpakuna at hindi pa naka kumpleto ng kanilang booster shots, magpunta po tayo sa pinakamalapit na vaccination site sa ating lugar upang makakuha ng libreng bakuna at makumpleto po ang ating bakuna laban sa Covid-19 virus.”
“Bukas po ang mga bakunahan natin ngayong Sabado at Linggo, at mayroon din pong nakatalagang vaccination centers sa mga malls, palengke at mga simbahan. Myroon din pong magbabahay-bahay ngayong weekend upang lahat ay mabigyan ng bakuna,” Sydiongco assured.
The launching activity was also attended by Provincial Governor Hon. Matthew Marcos Manotoc, OIC Provincial Health Team Leader – Dr. Virgilio Mangapit and Provincial Health Officer- Dr. Josephine A Ruedas.
A simultaneous launching was also held at the People’s Gymnasium in Sta. Barbara, Pangasinan with a total of 150 eligible individuals vaccinated.
As of September 20, 2022, Ilocos region has fully vaccinated a total of 3,813,990 or 88.32%.
