Thirty-five families from Sitio Tahimik in Barangay Calapacuan, Subic, Zambales have finally received the land titles to the lots where their homes stand after five years of waiting, through the assistance of Deputy Speaker and Zambales 1st District Representative Jay Khonghun and Zambales Governor Jun Ebdane.
According to the beneficiaries, securing their land titles not only gives them legal ownership of their properties but also frees them from the long-standing fear of losing their homes.
Together with Barangay Captain Teresita “Titta” Alver, the residents continuously pursued their request until it was realized through the financial assistance extended by Rep. Khonghun and the support of Gov. Ebdane, which helped facilitate the processing of their land titles.
One of the beneficiaries, Ruby Remedios, became emotional as she expressed her gratitude during the turnover ceremony.
“We are very thankful to Cong. Jay Khonghun and Gov. Ebdane. At first, I thought it was only a dream, but it turned out to be real. When you ask for their help, they never let you down. I’m overwhelmed with joy and could not help but cry. Thank you very much,” Remedios said.
