LUCENA CITY – Joint operatives on Tuesday arrested a drug group leader and one of his members in an operation at Jael Subdivision, Bgy. Ilayang Iyam, this city.
Nabbed was Warren Paderon, 38, the leader of the “Paderon Drug Group” and his right hand, Mark Alan Peralta, 35.
Quezon police director Col. Ledon Monte said the arrest of the two would reduce the number of the remaining drug groups operating in the province.
Joint operatives of the Lucena City Police Station under Lt. Col. Erickson Roranes, Provincial Intelligence Unit, Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Unit- Quezon launched the operation.
Roranes said the sting yielded 4.1 grams of shabu with a street value of P83,640, and the P500 marked money.
The official said Paderon’s other group members have already been arrested and prosecuted.
Charges for violations of Sections 5 and 11 of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drug Act of 2002 were filed against the arrested suspects.
