PRESIDENT Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. is set to distribute land titles to at least 1,270 Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries (ARBs) in Coron, Palawan, on Thursday as part of the administration’s program on food security.
“So, 1,270 po ang makakatanggap ng titulo – that’s equivalent to 2,926.78 hectares of land,” Presidential Communications Office (PCO) Assistant Secretary for Radio Joey Villarama told reporters in a briefing in Coron late Wednesday.
Villarama said President Marcos will also turn over at least three farm-to-market road projects – the San Nicolas to Sitio Caniogan; Busuanga to Caruray; and Sitio Nalbot to Arado thoroughfares.
The President will also extend other government services, he added.
“Naging priority po talaga ng administration ang food security. As part of the prioritization of ensuring food security for the country, itinataguyod po ng administrasyon ang pangangailangan ng mga magsasaka,” Villarama said.
Villarama said the administration aims to distribute 800,000 hectares of farmland to Filipino farmers.
President Marcos will be accompanied by Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) Secretary Conrado Estrella III and other government officials in the distribution of CLOAs and the extension of other government services.
