THOUSANDS of students from different barangays in Subic, Zambales received free school bags and school kits from Mayor Jonathan “Jon” Khonghun under the local government’s continuing education assistance program.
Mayor Khonghun, joined by Chief of Staff Janjo Khonghun, members of the Sangguniang Bayan, and barangay officials, personally distributed the school bags and essential learning supplies to the beneficiaries.
The mayor said the initiative aims to provide students with basic school materials needed for the upcoming school year while helping ease the financial burden on parents.
Parents and teachers welcomed the program, saying the free school bags and school kits offer much-needed assistance, especially to low-income families preparing for the opening of classes.
“We will continue implementing education and livelihood programs that will improve the welfare of every young Subikeño,” Mayor Khonghun said.
