A TOTAL of 223 individuals, including 10 most wanted and 75 persons wanted for various crimes, were arrested during a month-long operation by the police in Bataan.
Bataan police director Col. Romell Velasco said the police operations were conducted from January 8 to February 7.Velasco said 47 were nabbed for illegal drugs, 88 for illegal gambling and three were caught for illegal logging.
He said 11 loose firearms were confiscated and 22 guns were voluntarily surrendered as a result of the implementation of the Philippine National Police’s “Oplan Katok” drive.
A total of 61.0276 grams of shabu and 0.336 grams of marijuana were seized while P37,218 bet money were confiscated in anti-illegal gambling operations and more or less 921 board feet of illegally-cut coco lumber and one chainsaw were recovered.
“The Bataan police have been consistent in its efforts to preserve peace and order in the province. With these accomplishments, rest assured that we will continue to initiate and step up anti-crime drives and continue to work with the various groups in the community to better serve and protect the public,” the provincial top cop said.
