OVER 3,000 beneficiaries from the first district of Davao City received their Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa ating Disadvantaged/Displaced Workers (TUPAD) cash assistance.
Davao City Rep. Paolo Duterte said that some 5,430 individuals applied for the Department of Labor and Employment’s (DOLE’s) program.
The agency conducts the assessment after the profiling of applicants is completed by the first congressional district office.
Some 3,422 individuals have already received their payout.
The distribution is ongoing as thousands of recipients have yet to receive their payout in the upcoming weeks.
Among the recipients are carpenters, laborers, shine boys, street vendors, and fire victims.
The First Congressional District Office and the DOLE–Davao have been working together to assist thousands of impoverished residents through the TUPAD program.
TUPAD is a support program for displaced individuals with limited employment opportunities or who work seasonally. It provides immediate assistance to its beneficiaries for at least 10 days, but 30 days at maximum, depending on the specific job requirements.
