KUMPISKADO ang P1.2 bilyong halaga ng pekeng sigarilyo at kagamitan sa paggawa habang nasa 155 katao naman ang nasagip sa raid ng mga ahente ng Philippine National Police – Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (PNP-CIDG) sa isang warehouse nitong Huwebes sa Bgy. Moranquillo, San Rafael, Bulacan.
Agad na tinukoy ni PNP-CIDG director Brig. Sinabi ni Gen. Nicolas D. Torre III na isang Chinese national na nagngangalang Wu Qilong alyas “Ronald/Tony,” 30, ang naaresto sa operasyon.
Ayon kay Torre , sinalakay ang Bulacan ay tinaguriang pangunahing hub para sa produksyon ng mga pekeng sigarilyo na ipinamamahagi sa lalawigan at sa mga kalapit na lugar nito, kabilang ang Metro Manila.
Nilusob ng Operatives ng CIDG- Anti-Fraud and Commercial Crime Unit (AFCCU), Provincial Field Unit –Bulacan at San Rafael police, kasama ang mga kinatawan ng Bureau of Internal Revenue Region 5 (BIR 5) at Caloocan sa pamumuno ni Wrenolph Panganiban, sa pakikipag-ugnayan sa Police Regional Office 3 (PRO3) ang pekeng sigarilyo sa produksyon ng pasilidad sa bisa ng BIR Mission Order na tinaguriang “Oplan Olea.”
Nakumpiska ang New Berlin Cigarette finished 116,700 packs and 1,750,000 sticks; New Two Moon menthol cigarette finished 182,000 packs and 5,000 sticks; Dunston Red cigarette finished product 100; Modern cigarette finished product 1,100 packs and 22,500 sticks; RGD Red cigarette finished product 100 packs; Champion Mild menthol cigarette finished product 234 packs; Richman Royal cigarette finished product 800 packs; Carnival Menthol cigarette finished product 620 packs; Fort Menthol cigarette finished product 370 packs; Soda Red cigarette finished product 1,300 packs; tobacco small 373 sacks; tobacco big 47 sacks; tobacco 178 boxes raw; cigarette filter 5,244,000 sticks; cigarette paper 1,005 rolls; filter paper 800 rolls; cigarette foil 659 rolls; thousands of lid blank raw materials; thousands of ream/cartoons; hundreds of cigarette pack plastic roll wraps; Cannon Menthol Cigarette finish product 150 packs; 45 glue containers; cigarette making machines; and cigarette packing machines.
Nasagip sa raid ang 155 katao na ilegal na nagtatrabaho sa manufacturing plant.
Ayon sa mga awtoridad, ang ni-raid na illegal manufacturing plant ay maaaring makagawa ng 12.9 million sticks kada araw o tinatayang P45 milyon kada araw.
Kakasuhan ng tax evasion at paglabag sa Republic Act 8293 o Intellectual Property Code ang naarestong Chinese national at RA 9208 o Anti-Trafficking in Persons Act of 2003 na inamyenda ng RA 10364 na kilala rin bilang Expanded Anti-Trafficking in Persons Act. ng 2012.
