THE Bureau of Customs (BOC) at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA), in coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) and the NAIA Inter-Agency Drug Interdiction Task Group (NAIA-IADITG), successfully intercepted ten parcels containing kush, a high-grade variant of marijuana, with an estimated street value of P7,984,200.
The parcels, consigned to different recipients, were flagged during inspection operations at the Central Mail Exchange Center (CMEC) in Pasay City. A physical examination revealed a total of 5.703 kilograms of kush concealed within the shipments.
The confiscated items have been turned over to PDEA for further investigation and case build-up. Individuals involved shall face charges for violations of Republic Act No. 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002) and Republic Act No. 10863 (Customs Modernization and Tariff Act).

Meanwhile, Commissioner Bienvenido Y. Rubio highlighted the Bureau’s strong commitment to keeping communities safe, saying: “We understand the dangers illegal drugs bring to our families and neighborhoods. That’s why we’re stepping up our inspections, working closely with other agencies, and using every tool we have to stop these substances before they even make it past our borders. This isn’t just about enforcement—it’s about protecting lives and securing our future.”
Under the leadership of District Collector Yasmin O. Mapa, BOC-NAIA maintains a strong stance against illicit trade and remains vigilant in its enforcement operations.
