AN estimated 115 kilograms of shabu worth P782 million were seized while three suspects were arrested in separate anti-narcotics operations in Angeles City, Pampanga on Sunday.
Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency chair Director General Moro Virgilio M. Lazo said the first entrapment operation in Timog Hills Townhouse in Bgy. Pampang, Angeles City resulted in the arrest of Willy Tan Zhang alias “Ching,” a 51-year-old Chinese national , and Filipina Reziel B. Manalo, 30, of Sitio 6, Muzon St., San Juan, Batangas.
Confiscated from the two were some 85 kilograms of shabu worth P578 million and the boodle money.
The operation was conducted past 10 a.m. Sunday by undercover officers from the PDEA National Capital Region and PDEA Region 3, along with the Angeles City Police Station.
Authorities said Zhang tried to resist arrest leading to his heart attack. He was rushed to a nearby hospital but later died.
The second operation on Poinsettia Avenue in Bgy. Pampang around 11:50 a.m. Sunday led to the arrest of Mark June Barsaga alias “Mas-Mac,” a 23-uear-old construction worker and a resident of Dalahican St., Sta. Teresa, Purok 7, Lucena, Quezon; and another Chinese national Yi Xin Li, 49, of 1280 Jose Abad Santos Avenue in Tondo, Manila.
Seized from the suspects were an estimated 30 kilograms of shabu valued at P204 million, three mobile phones, two IDs and a metallic gray Toyota Avanza with plate no. ABQ-9912.
Charges for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 were filed against the arrested suspects.
