HIS Excellency, President Ferdinand Marcos Jr., together with DSWD Secretary Rex Gatchalian, leads the distribution of premium rice today (October 4) at Taguig City University.
At least 1000 Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) beneficiaries received 1 sack of 25-kilo premium rice, which was donated to the DSWD by the Bureau of Customs (BOC).
In his speech, PBBM reiterated that we have enough supply of rice in the country. “Marami po ang supply ng ating bigas ngunit dahil sa mga smugglers, hoarders, price manipulators na yan ay naiipit ang supply kaya nagbabago at tumataas ang ating mga presyo”, he shared.
He also assures the public that we will not allow those who harm livelihoods and the agricultural sector.
“Hindi tayo papayag na patuloy na mamamayagpag ang mga mapagsamantalang pumipinsala sa ating kabuhayan at sa buong sektor ng agrikultura”, PBBM added.
Meanwhile, the 1K sacks of premium rice distributed to the 4Ps beneficiaries are among the 42,000 sacks confiscated by BOC during its warehouse raid in Zamboanga City.
Present during the distribution are Taguig City Mayor Lani Cayetano, Special Assistant to the President Anton Lagdameo, DSWD-NCR Regional Director Atty. Michael Joseph Lorico, and Taguig City 1st District Representative Ricardo Cruz Jr.
