PRESIDENT Ferdinand “Bongbong” R. Marcos Jr. led yesterday the groundbreaking ceremonies for the two housing projects in Camarines Sur province .
The projects were part of the President’s flagship Pambansang Pabahay para sa Pilipino Housing (4PH) Program.
Marcos, together with Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development (DHSUD) Secretary Jose Rizalino L. Acuzar, Naga City Mayor Nelson Legacion, Camarines Sur Gov. Vincenzo Renato Luigi Villafuerte, 2nd District Rep. Luis Raymund Villafuerte, and 5th District Rep. Miguel Luis Villafuerte, joined in two consecutive DHSUD events to be implemented by Naga City government and Camarines Sur provincial government.
The President first launched the Integrated Infrastructure for Housing and Sustainable Community spearheaded by the provincial government of Camarines Sur. Immediately after, he went to Bgy. Balatas in Naga City to break ground for the city’s Legacy Residences Development Project.
The two housing projects were the first in Bicol region under the Marcos administration’s flagship “Pambansang Pabahay” designed to build 1 million housing units every year in the next six years.
The Camarines Sur provincial government’s housing project targets 12, 960 units in a six-hectare land along Panganiban Drive also in Naga City. Based on the presented plan, the area will have five mid to high-rise residential and four commercial buildings.
Naga City’s ‘The Legacy Residences Development Project’ initially plans to generate 1,200 units in a 1.2-hectare area in Bgy. Balatas. The city government’s plan includes seven mid-rise building with 20 units each floor, strategically located near the city center.
According to Acuzar, there will be more similar activities in Bicol region in the coming months when the “Pambansang Pabahay” is expected to go full blast.
“This is only the start, we will have more to come for the whole Bicolandia,” he said.
“DHSUD has been working double time with LGUs in this region and I think we will have more groundbreaking activities here as we aggressively pursue our efforts to provide decent and affordable shelters to our kababayans,” he added.
As of March 16, the “Pambansang Pabahay” has sealed 83 memorandums of understanding and a total of 19 groundbreaking activities.
