THE Philippine Coast Guard (PCG)’s BRP Capones MRRV-4404 conducted a medical evacuation for one of the crew of M/V Yodohime , a Japanese-flagged bulk carrier located at the vicinity waters of Guiuan, Eastern Samar, yesterday, 20 December 2023.
According to the ship’s captain, the patient is a 45-year-old Filipino crew named Esperidion Real, conscious, can speak, but is unable to comprehend and with a paralyzed right side of his body.
The Coast Guard District Eastern Visayas, after having received the report from PCG Command Center, immediately informed concerned units to deploy a team and proceeded to the rendezvous point in the vicinity waters off of Guiuan, Eastern Samar.
The patient was safely transferred to BRP Capones (MRRV-4404).
Today, 21 December 2023, BRP Capones (MRRV-4404) reached Tacloban Port and transported the patient to the Eastern Visayas Medical Center, Tacloban City for medical attention.
