PEDIATRIC vaccination for children aged 5 to 11 in Imus City, Cavite was forced to stop due to the lack of supply of Pfizer vaccines.
Pfizer is the only COVID-19 vaccine approved by the Food and Drug Administration to be used for the said age group.
In a Facebook post, Mayor Emmanuel Maliksi said the city government is already coordinating with the Department of Health regarding the next delivery of Pfizer doses.
“Huwag po natin sayangin ang kagustuhan ng taong bayan na maprotektahan ang kanilang sarili at pamilya,” the Imus mayor said.
“We can clearly see the high demand for the vaccine in Imus, so once again, I am calling our colleagues in the Department of Health to fill it,” he added.
Imus City health officer Dr. Ferdie Mina said they still have no idea on when the Pfizer doses will be delivered to the city.
Meanwhile, the city health officer said they still have stocks of COVID vaccines for the general population.
