
PHILIPPINE National Police chief Gen. Rodolfo Azurin Jr. has ordered a thorough investigation into the reported mauling of a radioman in Iloilo City on Friday.
The victim was Pio Hervias, a radio block-timer.
Hervias was reportedly mauled by unidentified men in La Paz, Illoilo City on Friday morning.
“The PNP is taking urgent action into another incident involving a member of media,” the top cop said.
Azurin also ordered the Iloilo City Police Office to provide security
The country’s top cop said any assault on working journalists is being considered by the PNP as a serious case that deserves prompt and preferential action.
