
THE Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) said Wednesday that part of the runway of the Dipolog City Airport is now closed for repair.
According to CAAP, the part of the runway that is undergoing repair is closed from July 18 to October 19.
While several commercial flights at the airport were cancelled Wednesday, the airport continues to be operational, receiving Philippine Airlines (PAL) flights PR 2557 (MNL-DPL, arrived 6:37 a.m.) and PR 2558 (DPL-MNL, departed 7:33 a.m.).
PAL safety inspectors said the surface of the Dipolog Airport’s runway is usable and that the areas of concern are on the sides of the runway pavement, which will not affect aircraft take off and landing.
Passengers affected by the cancelled flights were advised to contact their respective airlines for more information.
