POLICE Regional Office 3 director Brig. Gen. Cesar Pasiwen lauded the efforts and contributions of the Intelligence Division under Col. Reycon Garduque, chief of the Regional Intelligence Division, in maintaining peace and security in Central Luzon.
The Intelligence Division is the “brain, eyes, and ears” of the region’s police force.
During last Monday’s flag-raising ceremony, intelligence officers of the different provincial and city police offices were given recognition and awarded by Brig. Gen. Enrico Vargas, Deputy Regional Director for Administration (DRDA) PRO3, together with the guest of honor and speaker Brig. Gen. Andrew Cayad, director Intelligence Group represented by Col. Nestor Babagay Jr., deputy director for Administration, Intelligence Group.
Among the awardees were Capt. Silvestre Colanza, deputy chief and intelligence officer of Bagac police, and SSg. Marlon Mercado.
Both Colanza and Mercado were given the Medalya ng Kadakilaan for the arrest of one of the Department of the Interior and Local Government’s most wanted person.
Pasiwen said intelligence is important in promoting peace, security, and progress, in line with Philippine National Police chief Gen. Rodolfo S. Azurin Jr.’s M+K+K=K or the “Malasakit + Kaayusan + Kapayapaan = Kaunlaran” peace and security framework.
