By Jun Talusan

THE entire Quezon province is now insurgency-free.

Quezon Gov.  Angelina “Helen” Tan led the province-wide declaration of Stable Internal Peace and Security (SIPS) making the largest province in Region 4-A insurgency-free.

The declaration coincided with the 125th Philippine Independence Day celebration yesterday.

Following the joint efforts exerted by the military, the police, the local government units,  national government agencies and civic groups, the province’ 39 municipalities and two cities have already been declared insurgency- free one after the other, the last of which was Sariaya town last Friday.

The province’ celebration of the 125th Philippine Independence Day held at the Quezon Convention Center was highlighted by the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding for the province’ declaration as SIPS and ready for further development .

Quezon is the first province in Calabarzon region  declared free from insurgents from the barangay up to the municipality, city and province.
