A RADIO broadcaster yesterday was shot dead by motorcycle-riding gunmen in Calapan City, Oriental Mindoro.
Police identified the victim as Cresensiano Bunduquin, 50, owner of the Calapan City-based MUX online radio where he is hosting a program called “Balita at Talakayan,” and an emcee of another program at DWXR 101.7 Kalahi FM.
Bunduquin suffered two gunshot wound in the chest and died on the spot.
The gun attack occurred around 4:20 a.m. yesterday on C-5 Road in Bgy. Sta. Isabel.
The Philippine National Police strongly condemned the killing of Bunduquin.
PNP chief Gen. Benjamin C. Acorda Jr. ordered the Police Regional Office 4-B headed by Brig. Gen. Joel B. Doria and the Calapan City Police Station to leave no stone unturned in the investigation of the case.
Police are already coordinating with Bunduquin’s family and his work colleagues to gather more information that may help in the ongoing investigation.
“While his work as a media representative involves discussion of critical issues, we cannot fully conclude as of this time that the motive is work-related, but we are exploring all possible angles as of this time,” he said.
The official assured that the PNP prioritizes the security of those working in the media industry.
