
Subic, Zambales – Re-elected Congressman Jay Khonghun of the 1st District of Zambales has achieved a remarkable milestone by securing the highest number of legally cast votes for a congressional seat.
According to the Commission on Elections (COMELEC), Khonghun garnered a total of 160,887 votes for the position of Member, House of Representatives— the highest vote count officially recorded for the office in the recent election.
In its Certificate of Canvass (CEF No. 22), COMELEC formally proclaimed Khonghun as the duly elected representative of the 1st Legislative District of Zambales.
Congressman Jefferson F. Khonghun, a prominent member of the Young Guns of Congress, has been recognized for authoring numerous bills that primarily benefit the constituents of Zambales’ first district.
The 1st Congressional District of Zambales—comprising Olongapo City and the municipalities of Castillejos, San Marcelino, and Subic—has been represented in the House of Representatives since 1987. It is currently part of the 19th Congress, with Rep. Khonghun serving under the Lakas–CMD party
