A NIGHT of music, fun, and giving back! sponsored by the Rotary District 3820 of Lipa, the Vibe Vibes Music Festival rocked Lipa City, Batangas on Friday, September 29, 2023, at the breathtaking Acquamarine Recreational Center.
This fantastic, family-friendly festival had it all – live music, refreshing drinks, and a whole lot of heart. But this wasn’t just any music festival; it was a collaboration between the Rotary Club of Lipa and Mentorque Productions, and all the proceeds went straight to support essential community projects.
May Andrea Locsin Katigbak, PCCI Lipa President and Co-Chairman of the Rotary Octoberfest, emphasized that this event was a unique opportunity for the public to join in on the fun. She explained, “Usually, Octoberfest is just for Rotarians, all for the common goal of supporting Rotary Community Projects that help provide livelihood opportunities. This time, we had our first-ever concert and Rotary Gallery to showcase the incredible work of the Rotary Club of Lipa, especially in District 3820. We want everyone to be aware of where the funds are going – you get to enjoy, and you get to help.”
Mr. Jun Sanchez, the current President of Rotary Lipa, spoke passionately about their mission to assist the less fortunate, particularly those affected by past typhoons. He proudly mentioned, “We recently distributed 8 boats to fishermen in Catanduanes. And today, it’s not just Octoberfest; it’s a benefit for the fishermen who lost their boats, especially during the recent storms. We’re thrilled that we have a full house today.”
Adding to the excitement, Mr. Jhon Bryan D. Diamante, head of Mentorque Production & Team Talino at Puso and a Rotarian himself, hoped that the gallery showcasing their activities would inspire the youth to become future Rotarians. He shared, “Today, it’s not just about Octoberfest; it’s about helping the fishermen in Catanduanes who lost their boats during the typhoons. We’re happy to see such overwhelming support.”
The event was graced by the presence of distinguished guests, including Sto. Tomas Batangas City Mayor Atty. Arth Jun Aguilar Marasigan, City Vice Mayor Katherine Jaurigue-Perez, Sanggunian Bayan members, Mark Halili and his family, private sector representatives, and agency owners, all showing their unwavering support. Even Governor Mr. William Delloro of Naga and Chairwoman of Rotary Spouse Night Lady Ann Delloso made a special appearance.
Ms. Katigbak proudly mentioned that District 3820 comprises four provinces – Laguna, Batangas, Quezon, and Bicol – all coming together to support this fantastic event. Mr. Sanchez expressed his heartfelt appreciation, saying, “Thank you to everyone who supported the Rotary Club of Lipa’s activities. Rest assured that all your support will go towards helping those who lost their boats in Catanduanes, our adopted Aetas Barangay in Pampanga, and our other projects.”
And let’s talk about the music!
