Elizaldy “Zaldy” Co and NIA Upper Pampanga River Integrated Irrigation System (UPRIIS) Department Manager Engr. Gertrudes Viado, leads the launching of Bagong Bayaning Magsasaka (BBM) Rice program at the UPRIIS gymnasium in Cabanatuan City Friday (Sept. 13, 2024). The event highlights the partnership between NIA and farmers and irrigators associations to supply P29 per kilo of rice to the consumers, particularly those in the vulnerable sectors. The initiative aligns with President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.’s vision of providing Filipinos with affordable rice and strengthening the country’s food security.
