BATANGAS CITY – The Social Security System (SSS) Luzon South 2 Division conducted its One-Time Big-Time Coverage Drive and SSS e-Wheels Palengke Caravan at the Julian P. Pastor Memorial Public Market on July 14, 2026, as part of its continuing campaign to bring government services closer to the public while strengthening employer compliance with the Social Security Law.
The activity brought together personnel from the SSS branches of Batangas, Lipa, and Lemery to provide faster and wider service coverage for employers, employees, and self-employed members.
SSS Batangas Branch Head Mary Gay H. Galang said the three branches joined forces to reach more members and improve the delivery of services during the caravan.
Through the e-Wheels Palengke Caravan, market vendors, business owners, and workers were able to access various SSS services on-site, including member registration, record verification, generation of Payment Reference Numbers (PRN), as well as loan and benefit applications.
Aside from providing frontline services, SSS also intensified its Joint Coverage Drive by visiting business establishments inside the public market to encourage employers to register their businesses, report the correct number of employees, and remit the proper SSS contributions.
The initiative also included the verification of employee enrollment to help protect workers' social security rights.
Meanwhile, Joseph Pedley V. Britanico, Branch Head of the SSS Lipa Branch, emphasized the long-term value of SSS membership, describing it as a government program that provides lifelong protection for Filipino workers.
He noted that SSS remains one of the most affordable forms of insurance, adding that membership is permanent once established, benefits are tax-free, and the program carries a sovereign guarantee, ensuring that qualified members continue to receive their benefits.
The One-Time Big-Time Coverage Drive and e-Wheels Palengke Caravan form part of SSS' continuing efforts to expand social security coverage, improve public awareness, and make its programs and services more accessible to workers, employers, and members of the informal sector throughout Batangas.
